Mon Freakin Tana

While I was busy hauling in spectacular eastern sunfish, my friend Joel and his brother in law were on the Clark Fork in Montana hauling in these beauties. Because we are such good friends, he gave me a detailed map of his secret spot and said I could fish at the 'X' any time I wanted.

So much for secret spot now! Did Ed say Montana? I think he meant Canada...yea, that is what he was trying to tell I am almost sure of that.

You might be right. That fish in the third picture does look like he's got a funny accent...

Joel, I love that fin shot. Be honest, how many did you take to get that one good one? I also never thought to ask, but was that fish hooked at the time of that photo?

Ed, I took one shot at the fin. Believe me when I tell you the excitement level was way too extreme to be messing around with a camera! And yes that is the big pigs back you see sticking out of the water. As you can imagine, he was pretty easy to site cast too!

That's really cool, to have a picture of the fish before he was caught. A lot of pressure, though, because at that point you HAVE to catch him! No fun showing pictures of a big-ass fish that had no interest whatsoever in your fly fishing antics.
