A lot of people have family photographs professionally taken in a studio. But I've dabbled with photography for a long time and think I've captured the essence of my wife and our puppy, Gromit, in this beautiful portrait.

It's not that she's shy. Gromit is such a camera hog that whenever I try to take a picture of anything or anyone else, he leaps through the air and makes that cheesy grin right in front of the lens just as the camera clicks. Uncanny.
